Learning Centres at Orchard International Christian School is tailored to prepare students for their next educational level. The curriculum is personalized and integrated, guiding students seamlessly toward realizing their potential.
Orchard International Christian School consists of three Lower School Learning Centers and one shared Upper School Learning Center. Each Learning Center is overseen by a Supervisor and may include a Monitor, assisting the Supervisor in its operation.
The Lower School encompasses Preschool, ABCs, and Infants, while the Upper School comprises Juniors and Seniors.
Within the Learning Centers, students engage in quiet study, working individually on their customized curriculum. Each student has their own designated workspace, fostering a stable and personal environment. They progress through their workbooks (PACEs) and communicate with the Supervisor or Monitor when assistance is needed. This fosters independence among students, empowering them to take ownership of their work, understand their learning styles, and cultivate their abilities. Additionally, this environment instills valuable skills such as goal setting and research.
Our integrated system guides students through ICCE levels General to Advanced, preparing them for future endeavors in work, college, or university. We welcome students from diverse backgrounds and denominations, maintaining exceptionally high academic standards while also prioritizing character development.
Character development and discipleship are central to our approach. Daily emphasis is placed on character, starting with morning assembly where we discuss the 90 character traits embedded throughout the PACES. These traits, including friendliness, kindness, peacefulness, purposefulness, resourcefulness, and truthfulness, are integrated into every PACE through verses, poems, stories, and cartoons. Students are challenged to reflect on their attitudes through the characters and dilemmas presented. Our staff engage directly with students on character, offering both admonishment and encouragement. We view our role as discipling children, actively guiding their growth rather than passively observing. This personalized approach allows us to address individual needs as they arise.
Additionally, we hold whole-school Christian assemblies, daily devotionals, and weekly Scripture or Chapel lessons, furthering not only social skills development but also spiritual growth.
